What is Sculptra Liquid Facelift?

The Sculptra Liquid Facelift treatment is an FDA-approved injectable filler that replaces lost collagen to treat deep facial wrinkles and folds. In addition, Sculptra is used to treat lipoatrophy, which is the loss of facial fat beneath the skin as a result of ageing. This treatment is also known as Liquid Facelift because it creates a fuller and more youthful appearance over time.

How it works

Collagen is a fibrous protein in the deep dermis that provides structure to the skin. It supports the functions of elastin and hyaluronic acid (HA), which means that the more collagen you have, the higher the presence of elastin and HA.

Elastin is an elastic protein that maintains the skin’s shape, while the HA nourishes to keep skin hydrated. Both are important in maintaining a youthful appearance, but with age, collagen loss and lipoatrophy cause visible signs of facial ageing such as deep wrinkles, skin folds, sunken cheeks, a gaunt appearance and more.

Unlike other facial fillers, Sculptra is a unique collagen-replenishing treatment that helps your body rebuild collagen. It works within the deep dermis, instead of topically, to restore the skin’s inner structure and volume. As a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator, Sculptra works to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production to replace lost collagen. When the PLLA micro-particles are absorbed into the skin, it rebuilds collagen strands to gradually restore facial volume and provide fullness to deeps wrinkles and prominent skin folds.

The effects of Sculptra Liquid Facelift are subtle and appear gradually over time. Therefore, dramatic improvement should not be expected immediately after the treatment.
